Advanced Composites under High Strain Rates Loading: a Route to Certification-by-Analysis – Call for abstracts

The COST Action HISTRATE (https://histrate.eu/) is organizing its third conference under the theme of ‘Advanced Composites under High Strain Rates Loading: a Route to Certification-by-Analysis’. With a great pleasure we invite you to submit your abstract to the HISTRATE Conference 2026, which will be organized as a registration-free event and held in Riga, Latvia, on 10th and 11th June 2026.
Conference Topics:
- Novel composite materials for high strain rate applications
- Novel simulation methods and best practices for composites under high strain rates
- Multi-modal sensing for impact detection and damage characterization
- Advanced testing and instrumentation for composites under high strain rates
- New standards for composites certification with industrial applications under high strain rates
After the conference, all presented abstracts will be published on the HISTRATE’s platform, enhancing the impact of your work. Moreover, full papers can be submitted to the special issue devoted to the HISTRATE 3rd Conference of the journal “Mechanics of Composite Materials” hosted by the University of Latvia according to the template. The submitted papers will be peer-reviewed before publication.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
- Submission for the HISTRATE Conference 2026 will open on 22nd January 2026;
- Abstract should be a maximum of 2 pages;
- A template for the abstract is available here;
- Abstracts must be written in English and submitted here;
- Deadline for abstract submissions is 10th March 2026, 23:59 CET;
- Within the submission, you must indicate your preferred conference topic (listed above) and your presentation preference as:
- Oral-only,
- Oral or poster,
- Poster only;
- Abstracts will be selected after review by members of the HISTRATE conference program committee;
- Notification of acceptance will be sent in the middle of April 2026;
- A limited number of presenters of selected abstracts can receive reimbursement of travel and subsistence costs according to the COST Rules for Reimbursement.
